DESCRIPTION
When the modem on the PC or server is active, the Secure Fire Wall Plate will
automatically disconnect it from the LAN. See "X" in the Application Diagram.
This eliminates the possibility of security breaches via dial connections to
unscrupulous Internet sites or other unauthorized inbound hacker type dial activity.
The Secure Fire Wall Plate is available in both the
Basic Mini Firewall and the
Enforcer Versions.
The Enforcer Version allows two methods to re-establishing the LAN connection when
the modem session is completed. It can be restored automatically when the modem
is disconnected or after a virus scan program is run. The method is selected by a slide
switch on the PC board.
The Hardware
The Secure Fire Wall Plate is quite simple, easy to use and highly effective. It
requires no AC power and uses relays to physically disconnect the LAN connection
when the modem is in use.
