APPLICATION DIAGRAM

RTO Application Diagram

DESCRIPTION
The RTO is used to control the telephone line connection via a computer's RS-232 port. It is accomplished simply by raising or lowering a control signal on the port.

The RTO has two standard RJ-11 telephone line connectors (In and Out) which are connected through a 350 volt DC 120 milliamp relay.

The RS-232 "control port" is a female DB-25 pin connector configured as a DCE. The unit is powered from the DTR/RTS line voltages of the DTE.

Common uses include enabling/disabling remote modem or voice connections and enabling PDA or laptop connections to kiosks.

It can be used locally or remotely depending on the network connection of the RS-232 host.
